Stirling University Men's Lacrosse Team was first formed by a small group of players with no playing experience who had the drive to start a new club within the university. This has progressed and now Stirling is by far one of the most successful clubs within the Universities in BUCS, Scottish League and on the European Stage throughout the short space of time that the club has been in existence.
Lacrosse was first played by the Iroquois native Americans in the 1100's. Played on grass, Lacrosse contains the physical hitting of American football, the speed and quickness of ice hockey, and the passing and shooting ability of basketball. There is also a big social emphasis within our club, with frequent team nights out and an annual tour to places such as Dublin and Amsterdam. The sport returned to Scotland, in 1990/91 after a gap of nearly a century, during which time Women's Lacrosse was the only version of the game played north of the border. We aim to never let this happen again!
